Well, it had to happen. We woke up on Thursday morning to the not so delightful (at least while you are camping) sound of rain. After some threatening tornadic activity and considerable rain it finally cleared mid morning turning into a beautiful day. In addition to meeting and talking to most of you face to face at the show, the benefit of having so many of the vendors we work with in such close proximity is truly beneficial. So much more can be accomplished in a compressed time frame when you can get down and focus.
There are four areas of focus that we at Franklin Aerospace have on the front burners.

1). Updating the accessories available to the Franklin engine.

2). Continuing the consolidation of existing Franklin parts floating around out there in the world.

3). New part manufacture.

4). Experimental engine sales.

I will address, at least in general terms, what we are working on in the accessory front.

Starters: As most of you are aware, we are currently offering a new certificated light weight starter made by Sky Tec. It comes in both the 12 and 24 volt configuration.

Ignition systems: This project has been moving forward with some intensity as we analyze three different well known and respected systems. None are currently certified but the process will begin immediately upon selection.

Electrical: We are in the final stages of selecting an updated and lighter weight alternator. More to come in future posts.

Fuel: We have isolated a direct drive mechanical fuel pump that we believe will work nicely with the Franklin engine. Work continues on putting together a deal that works for everyone.

I hope that this will give you a taste of whats going on with Franklin Aerospace at Sun N Fun this year as we continue to work toward making it easier, safer and more enjoyable pursue your passion! Kelly
